Health & Safety Advisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our ambitious and growing team.

As we continue to grow, we need to keep our people safe. The Health & Safety Advisor will help develop policies and procedures to make sure people stay safe in the workplace and are not harmed while carrying out their roles. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating, reporting and preventing incidents, as well as reporting on the statistics and offering solutions to reduce risk.

This role is based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.

OPERATIVE

As a growing business, we are looking to grow our team of Operatives. Day to day duties would include excavation (both hand and machine), concreting, post & sign erection, working from MEWPS, lighting column/ ducting installation, cable pulling and assisting within the operational logistics of driving vehicles, plant, and machinery.

Traffic Signage/ Street Lighting experience is favoured (but not essential) for the position, along with any relevant tickets such as CSCS/ CPCS cards, digger, lorry loader, IPAF or HGV.

Electrician

Day to day duties would include SWA electrical terminations into lighting columns and feeder pillars, wiring lanterns, testing & inspecting on street furniture, fault finding, cable pulling, working from MEWPS and assisting within the operational logistics of driving vehicles.

Electrical Street Lighting experience is favoured for the position but not essential, along with any relevant tickets such as CSCS/ CPCS cards, Street works, IPAF, G39, City & Guilds/ NVQ or equivalent in electrical installations. A full UK Driving Licence and flexible working hours are essential.

Trainee Estimator / Estimating Co-ordinator

We are looking for Trainee Estimators to join our growing team. You will learn how to determine the total cost of a construction project before work commences.  Becoming involved in projects in the early stages covering everything from materials, labour, equipment hire, transport costs and everything in between. You will be fundamental to the business winning projects and achieving turnover and profitability. You will be involved in building client relationships, preparing documents for tender, gathering quotes, preparing budgets and proposals.

You don’t need experience but must be an analytical thinker, interested in detail, an excellent communicator both written and verbal and keen to learn and take part in the necessary training to succeed in the role.

These roles are based in Podington, Northamptonshire.

Buyer

You will play a vital role in the company, supporting the contracts team by taking responsibility for buying materials and equipment needed for the successful completion of schemes on budget and to agreed timeframes. You will build relationships with suppliers and peers to ensure you fully understand the brief and are well equipped to make the best decisions when buying materials to secure the best prices and lead times.

You will attend handover meetings to understand the scope of works and requirements, organise deliveries and keep the material order schedules up to date. You will need to be an excellent communicator and be confident in negotiating and highlighting any concerns or delays.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor in our Newton Aycliffe Office. You will be offered training and support to begin your career as a Quantity Surveyor.

You will learn to assist in managing projects of various sizes ensuring clear and accurate budgets are produced at tender.

You will learn to build effective relationships with both clients and internal departments to ensure contracts are completed within projected budgets.

Jointer

As a DNO approved contractor we have an opportunity for a Jointer to join our team.

You will make and repair joins in insulated power supply and control cables installed in underground pipes, trenches, and overhead systems up and down the country making sure the quality of the works meets the customer standards and requirements.

This role is site-based so will include nationwide travel.
