KS2 Sustainability Awareness Programme
We’ve developed a sustainability awareness programme to deliver to Key Stage 2 students. It includes a fun, interactive presentation & activity pack which explains what carbon is, how it is produced, and what we’re doing as a business to lower our carbon footprint. It also covers ideas on how students can reduce their own carbon footprints both at school and at home.
As part of the programme, we also encourage the schools to embark upon their own bio-diversity projects by including an outdoor planting activity, and offering a £150 grant to buy gardening equipment. The grant is particularly important, as it ensures the schools have access to the appropriate equipment to continue their diversity projects long after we’ve left.
So far, we’ve contributed over 90 hours of social value through this initiative, delivering the presentation to four schools and donating £600 of gardening equipment. We have also donated waste items, such as cable drums which have been used to create play areas and sensory gardens.
