We're currently delivering two major traffic signal renewal projects on the M1 at Junctions 25 and 28, with a combined contract value of approximately £1.6 million.

As the main contractor, we're delivering complete traffic signals renewals at both junctions. This includes traffic lights, detection loops, technology systems, and all civils works, plus additional resurfacing and realignment, supported by our supply chain.

All the new aluminium columns we're installing are low-access, improving the safety and efficiency of future maintenance activities.

Furthermore, at Junction 28, we improved safety in the wide load bay by installing a new above-ground radar detection system and signage. When a wide load is ready to exit, the system automatically stops all traffic at the junction, allowing safe passage.

We've worked closely with National Highways’ Abnormal Loads team to sequence our works in the wide load bay to avoid disruption to abnormal loads movements.
